Let's Start!!
Wooohoo let's start this thing! I will go over the guidelines again.
Every week for the next 8 weeks, EACH member of the home will give up 3 items. These items must be something that someone else can use. You can't give the one odd sock or the broken GI Joe with Kung Fu grip you got 9 years ago! Toys should be clean and in working order. Clothes should be clean and in good condition etc.
Every Saturday make a point of gathering your items and placing them in your "donation spot" You have all week to make these choices....choose wisely!
At the end of 8 weeks each person will have the option to take back 1 item, the rest will then go off to Goodwill or another charity of your choice.
After the big donation, each family or groups of families will meet for a Feel Good Dinner!
Isn't this a wonderful way to: rid our overstuffed homes of "stuff", make room for those Christmas presents that will be here soon, teach our kids about giving, give us a warm feeling and it will be fun to see what other people will give!
This blog will be a place we can see each others progress and post pics of our huge piles that we will eventually have to haul away! If the event is successful, maybe we can do it again in the spring.
If you plan to join us in Operation Donation, just leave a comment.
Thanks and happy purging!
